This program consists of three categories, all designed for skilled workers.
The program allows Canadian residents to sponsor their family members, such as spouses, children, and parents, to come to live, study, and work in Canada.
The process of applying for immigration through the Express Entry program requires certain documents at different stages of the application process.
The applicant goes through various stages and steps, where at each stage, they need to provide statements and official documents related to their personal file and immigration program requests. It is not necessary to upload all of these documents to submit a personal profile, but you may need information from some or all of these documents.
- Passport or travel document
- Language test results (English – French)
- Proof of Canadian education or educational credential assessment report for immigration purposes if applying through the Federal Skilled Workers Program or if you want to get points for education obtained outside Canada
- Provincial nomination (if applicable)
- Written job offer from an employer in Canada (if applicable)
- Proof of work experience
- Certificate of qualification in a trade occupation issued by a Canadian province or territory (if applicable)

Starting from October 1, 2023, you no longer need to undergo a pre-medical examination before submitting your permanent residence application through the Express Entry program. If invited to apply, you'll need to upload copies of the documents used for your profile, and most applicants will also need to upload the following:
- Police certificates

- Divorce certificate and legal separation agreement if declaring marital status as "divorced"
- Death certificate if declaring marital status as "widowed"

You only need to submit these if included in your personalized document checklist. Your application may be rejected if these documents are not provided; they are used to verify if you meet the requirements of the program you are applying for.
